The illustrator of Funky Features Zodiac Astrology Poster – Aries.
Known as one of the foremost pulp magazine artists, Virgil Finlay’s classic and iconic covers graced many of the Golden Age pulp magazines. He was particularly fond of working in pen and ink, with a great deal of detailed stippling and cross-hatching. The intricate line-work is staggering! For the Funky Features piece Aries, he used a technique called scratchboard. In fact, the original artwork is actually in black and white.
